Lewis Hamilton Brings +44 and Almave to Singapore

Lewis Hamilton heads to Singapore in early October for the drop of his latest fashion capsule collection as well as zero-proof cocktails in time for race week.

It’s sort of the rule – once you get famous for one thing, you start applying that fame to other industries. Invariably, it’s by launching your own spirits brand or your own clothing line, and in the case of racing legend Lewis Hamilton, it’s the latter.

Hamilton is now bringing his lifestyle brand +44, in collaboration with non-alcoholic agave spirit Almave, to Southeast Asia for the first time, with the rollout featuring a streetwear capsule co-created with Singaporean artist Jahan Loh, a pop-up from 5 to 11 October and a signature zero-proof cocktail, all timed for Singapore’s race week.

The Local Touch

Off the track, the clothing is the headline. Plus44 Marina Spaceport is a limited-edition capsule featuring Loh’s Spaceman motif, which runs through hoodies, tees, shorts, jerseys and a celestial camo tracksuit. Both the capsule and a bespoke art collection will be sold exclusively at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and online.

The drinks side is Almave, co-founded by Hamilton and Master Distiller Iván Saldaña of Casa Lumbre. It’s a non-alcoholic spirit made in Mexico from real agave using traditional distillation practices, with three expressions – Ámbar, Blanco and Humo – available exclusively at Marina Bay Sands for one year.

For us, two things stand out. First, the local co-creation. Race-week merchandise in Singapore tends to mean team-issue replica kit, so a capsule authored by a Singaporean artist gives the drop a reason to exist beyond the driver’s name. Second, the staying power. Most race-week activations disappear on Monday, but signature cocktail The Lewis stays on menus at venues such as Mott 32, CUT and Milos until next September.
