WOLF has reengineered watch winding from the ground up with the Rocket System, a modular setup that scales, stacks, and travels with your collection.
WOLF, the British brand that has spent decades refining the art of keeping automatic watches ticking, has just given the category its most ambitious update yet. The Rocket System is less a single product than a platform, a fully modular approach to winding, charging and displaying watches that’s built to expand as a collection does.
The system starts with Rocket itself, billed as the world’s smallest travel watch winder. It’s a compact, high-precision module designed to perform equally well on a nightstand or tucked into a carry-on. The standout addition is an upgraded Adjustable Lock-in Cuff, which lets owners fine-tune the fit with a twisting front panel and two sizes of slot-in cushions, securing everything from a slim dress watch to a chunkier sports model without any wobble.
Where WOLF really flexes its engineering is under the hood. Rather than estimating rotations based on elapsed time, as many winders do, the Rocket counts the exact number of Turns per Day, running at 900 bi-directional TPD for consistent, reliable winding across a broad range of automatic movements. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery keeps it running for up to 30 days on a single charge, depending on the watch’s weight, and it tops up via USB-C.
Other details reward close inspection: a 12 o’clock stop/start position, rotation programmes with built-in pause and sleep phases, a direct drive micro gearbox for durability, a proprietary CPU for consistent accuracy, and sub-surface LED indicators that quietly report winding and charging status.
The real innovation, though, is what happens when you add more than one. The Rocket Docking Station turns individual winders into a connected system, using integrated joints and a bridal cable arrangement to link multiple units together. Collectors can arrange them in a line, stack them vertically, or build custom configurations, turning what’s usually a purely functional object into something closer to a display piece.
It’s a system designed to grow: as a collection expands, owners simply add another Rocket rather than replace the setup entirely. Safety hasn’t been an afterthought either, with the Docking Station featuring USB-C charging with built-in over-voltage protection and its own LED status indicators.
Compatibility has clearly been a priority too. The Docking Station works with both existing Rocket winders and the new Adjustable Lock-in Cuff generation, so current owners aren’t locked out of the upgrade. A single Rocket and Docking Station can be powered using the existing USB-C lead plus an included Conversion Adaptor, while collectors looking to scale up can link up to ten Docking Stations from one power source using the supplied bridal cables and a separately sold Universal Power Lead.
The Rocket collection is available now, with the Rocket priced at HK$5,025 (US$641) and the Rocket Docking Station at HK$1,189 (US$152).
